As you know, your appearance changes as you age—but did you know that the appearance of your teeth will change as well? While this change may be inevitable, there are a few things you can do to prevent these changes.

Unfortunately, over time your teeth will wear down and change shape. This is simply the result of eating and chewing but the problem can be made worse by teeth grinding and nail biting. This may not seem like a serious issue, but you could be surprised by how much the shape of your teeth can change and by how heavily it could affect your smile.

Speaking of how your teeth change, have you heard that your teeth grow more brittle with time?  Fortunately, if you care for your smile properly, your teeth should stay strong. That means you should brush and floss every day and visit your dentist every six months. Keeping up your oral hygiene will also help you prevent tooth discoloration.

You should also care for your teeth well now. If you think something is wrong with your smile, we recommend visiting your dentist as soon as you can. If you prevent major problems with your smile now, you’ll also be helping your future smile. In reality, if you aren’t careful now, you bam be surprised by the state of your smile when you are older.
