Missing teeth can be a source of embarrassment. When the teeth in question are your front teeth, you will can feel very self-conscious. A flipper denture, or a flipper, as it is often called, is not really a denture. Actually, it is a retainer that has been fitted with one more prosthetic teeth. Normally, a flipper is used to temporarily replace your teeth while permanent dentures are being made, or your mouth heals from surgery and you are getting ready for a replacement procedure. But since a flipper is relatively inexpensive when compared to other types of tooth replacements, some people opt to continue to use them on a permanent basis. The flipper gets its name from the fact that it is easily moved, or flipped out of place with your tongue. That is not advisable; your flipper is not a strong as a regular denture and you need to handle it with care. You can clean your flipper with denture toothpaste and toothbrush with soft bristles. You should soak your flipper overnight in a denture solution to keep it clean and moist.
